You will need to make your own lodging and travel arrangements. Most people will be staying near Deadwood or Spearfish. The official reunion dates are June 15-17. However, many will be extending their stays earlier or later to enjoy the surrounding area. Either way, it is strongly recommended to book hotels early as they often sell out during the summer months.
The pavilion area of Elkhorn Ridge Resort will be used as a central gathering place and location for many of the group events, with cabins and RV sites available. However, you do not need to stay at the Elkhorn to join in on group activities. For those who are interested, a block of cabins and RV sites have been set aside. Call (605) 722-1800 and mention you are with the Eixenberger Reunion. Space is limited so book early. Discounts are possible for military, first responders and health care workers. The Rapid City Regional Airport is the closest major airport and is located approximately 53 miles east of Deadwood. Major airlines include Delta, American, United, and Allegiant. The airport also has on site rental car companies, shuttles and cabs.
There are a wide variety of lodging options available. Most people will be staying at the Elkhorn Resort or nearby hotels in Deadwood or Spearfish. The Elkhorn offers cabins and RV sites. Deadwood hotels are close to local casinos. There are also VRBO and house rental options nearby.
While it takes a little longer, driving provides an opportunity to visit some of the other sites along the way. Interstate 90 is nearby and runs east-west. Rental car options are available at the airport and in Rapid City. There are also businesses where you can rent RVs in the area.
